Job Summary



The Product Compliance Engineering Manager assures completion of all aspects of the compliance of Vermeer products in the United States and International markets, including the final determination of whether the product(s) meet the requirements for such market(s). This position identifies US and International regulations that Vermeer products need to meet, coordinates and oversees the creation and maintenance of sourcing, testing or other recordation of product or component adherence to applicable specifications or configuration, obtains and maintains applicable registrations and approvals, and provides documentation of product compliance to facilitate product sales.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization's business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.


2. Evaluate and review machine designs (whole machine or components/features) from the standpoint of product compliance and create and oversee processes to prepare, store and maintain documentation relating to such product compliance.


3. Oversee the materials compliance program for the company. This includes REACH, RoHS, F-gases, and Conflict Minerals, as well as other regulated substances or materials of interest.


4. Oversee the company's engine (compression ignition and spark ignition) compliance programs in the US and internationally. Maintain agency or governmental registrations and manage the periodic reporting of engines used and flexibility credits to applicable agencies or governments.


5. Establish and implement internal product design guidelines for meeting US and international on-highway vehicle regulations.


6. Identify industry standards and in-house design considerations as they relate to compliance of Vermeer products with applicable US and International regulations. Oversee the establishment and maintenance of Product Compliance Considerations (PCC) incorporating such standards and design considerations for compliance of all Vermeer product lines in applicable markets.




Education and/or Experience


- B.S. in Engineering (Agricultural, Biological, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Materials Science, Mechanical, Mining, Nuclear, Operational, Petroleum).


- Minimum of 10 years' experience related to international product compliance; equivalent training and experience with strong emphasis on product compliance; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.


- Minimum of 3 years' experience in effectively managing people, processes, and development projects.




Other Skills and Abilities


- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in international product compliance engineering.


- Ability to operate all Vermeer products.


- Ability to perform and think analytically under pressure.


- Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to formulate and articulate difficult and sometimes controversial rationale(s) for meeting compliance requirements.


- Ability to present to and persuade agency and governmental representatives regarding Company's product compliance efforts


- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance.


- Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner and work with confidential information in an appropriate manner.




Travel


Up to 25% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.
