Through community involvement, innovative financial solutions and dedication to career development, we make a difference in millions of lives every day, including our employees'.Individual will support RIS FSA (Retirement Investment Solutions Full Service Accumulation) with qualified plan issues and potentially RIS Annuities with retail annuities.Accountability:Pension plan work will include issues relating to pension plan operations and qualificationInvestment issues, product designFiduciary/transactional operationsProhibited transaction rules and the ERISA/IRC provisionsThe pension plan work will include regulatory compliance and advocacy work. Retail annuities work would include work with both fixed and variable annuities and would require knowledge of both insurance and securities laws applicable to annuities.Provide legal advice and recommendations to business clients so they can make educated and informed business decisions. Handle legal matters of intermediate complexity to ensure that company affairs are conducted within the framework of the law and consistent with sound business practices and ethics.Qualifications:Requires JD and 5-8 years experience as an attorney.Must be admitted to practice in the state employed within twelve months of hire.Requires knowledge of the relevant area of law and its application.Must be able to work as a member of a team and independently on a self-motivated basis.Requires superior written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to apply knowledge of the law to make sound judgments, communicate, and interact with others in a professional manner.Some travel may be required.Visa Sponsorship:This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization by Principal.
