Branch Operations Manager
Seneca Companies is currently seeking a Branch Operations Manager for our Waste Solutions group in our Des Moines office. Seneca Companies is equipped to handle an array of situations - from scheduled industrial cleanings, unscheduled shut downs, to 24-hour emergency spill response and waste transportation/disposal. Our trained operations field staff provide "The Complete Solution" for customer facilities, sites or projects - including services such as hydro blasting, jetting, wet and dry vacuum pumping, confined space entry, fuel polishing, frac tank rental and more. Our ultimate service goal is to provide a prompt, environmentally-safe waste removal solution, while minimizing disruption to our client's business.


The Branch Operations Manager will plan, direct, organize and control all administrative, purchasing, inventory, sales, service and construction functions and activities for the Branch Office, ensuring compliance with Company policy and guidelines and governing regulatory requirements. The incumbent will manage and direct the cost-effective use of Company resources, prospect new business, enhance customer relations and market Company services to maximize investment, protect assets and contribute to Company growth and profitability.


Responsibilities:



+ Oversees multiple teams of Field Technicians and ensures project objectives are met, consistent with company standards and strategy


+ Selects, directs and trains staff capable of meeting current and projected Company goals. Makes recommendations and/or decisions on various personnel matters such as salaries, performance reviews and disciplinary action.


+ Plans, schedules and monitors Branch activities, prioritizing and assigning work, establishing deadlines and inspecting work performed; provides administrative and technical direction to staff.


+ Plans, prepares and monitors operating budget; analyzes billings, job cost records, and other pertinent financial records and reports.


+ Authorizes budgeted project expenditures and the purchase of non-capital items; recommends on the purchase of capital and office equipment.



Skills/Requirements:



+ 7 or more years of progressively responsible management experience in a relevant industry.


+ Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Relevant fields include Geology, Environmental Science or Management


+ Experience working with various environmental regulatory agencies (i.e. ground water, surface water, etc.)


+ Experience managing multiple projects and remote field employees in multiple locations.


+ Ability to prepare, monitor and analyze operating budget. Extensive knowledge of business administration, P&L, sales and marketing principles and practices.


+ Management of change orders and other direct customer-facing activities.


+ Management of projects in excess of $500,000.


+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to make effective presentations.


+ Excellent interpersonal skills.
