Marketer Services IT is looking for a transformational leader to deliver quality Software that supports the life cycle of our over 150,000 Financial Professionals at Principal. You should have a desire to and a bias for action when opportunities for change present themselves to our organization. You should enjoy coaching others and identifying new ways to allow your employees and peers to bring their best to work.

Our IT teams work very closely with our business partners in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment consisting of 15 scrum teams located in our Home office in Des Moines, IA and India. You will have the opportunity to inspire, coach and reward two of those teams. Work in Marketer Services IT is primarily focused on delivering quality home-grown solutions as well as integrating and configuring third-party vendor solutions for our business partners across the enterprise.

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or math related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate's degree when defining "equivalent work experience")

+ 6+ years of experience in an IT field

+ 3+ years formal IT leadership in a distributed environment

Additional preferred experience:

+ Experience leading in a dynamic distributed environment

+ Experience leading the support of legacy systems with proven strategies to identify and propose solutions to overcome technical debt

+ Experience leading in an agile environment

+ Demonstrated experience leading delivery teams (Automated Quality Assurance and Application Development)

+ Demonstrated coaching capabilities

+ Demonstrated bias for action around continuous improvement

+ Demonstrated knowledge of sound software development practices including, but not limited to TDD/BDD, Paired Programming and Service Oriented Architecture.

+ Demonstrated instances of leading up

+ Demonstrated relationship management with 3rd party integrated systems

+ Experience working with business partners in helping to quantify and validate business value realization
